Louisa Burnett-Hall

This series of paintings by Louisa Burnett-Hall was originally based on images of pictures she had taken of Japanese Koi carps, which first initiated a series of fish paintings. However, surreptitiously, the paintings naturally veered towards an abstract representation as if transported by the natural flux of water when light, reflection and specifically movement became the main focus of the subject.

Still today, Louisa paints dynamic abstract compositions dominated by the extraordinary flux of colours and light inspired by water, ice, cascades and the natural dynamism of nature.

Originally from England, Hampshire, Louisa Burnett-Hall is a graduate of Fine Arts from the university of Edinburgh. She now lives and works in Paris.
